Cobra Sport VX220 Turbo Stainless De-Cat Pipe Exhaust Pre Cat Downpipe 2.5

BRAND NEW COBRA SPORT PRE CAT DE CAT PIPE TO FIT VX220 TURBO 00-05. Manufacturers of Performance and Sports Stainless Steel Exhausts in Sheffield UK. All Cobra stainless steel exhaust systems are manufactured here in the UK. All Cobra Sport performance exhausts are manufactured from certified grade 304 stainless steel and TIG welded for a superior quality finish. Vauxhall VX220 Turbo (00-05) 2.5 Pre Cat De Cat Downpipe. Brand New Cobra Sport Stainless Steel. 2.5 Pre-Cat De-Cat Downpipe. Some systems are made to order. 63.5mm / 2.5. As a company Cobra are committed to continuous improvement and investing in new developments, with a keen focus on quality and service our loyal highly trained team are always happy to help. The production facilities at Cobra Sport exhausts enables us to produce exhausts in high volume and having worked with clients such as Subaru UK, Isuzu UK and Ginetta Cars to name but a few. How are your exhausts made? All of Cobra exhausts are made from aircraft grade 304 stainless steel and constructed using precision TIG welding with mandrel formed bends in the pipe work for a smoother gas flow. Cobra pride ourselves in producing high quality products. What sound can I expect from your exhausts? Cobra exhausts will have a more sporty tone than original equipment exhausts. This is an inevitable result of the less restrictive systems they produce. However, with careful design and production methods, Cobra aim to keep a subtle sporty tone. If you prefer a loud system, then one of our non-resonated (no centre box) exhaust systems will provide a louder exhaust note. Many of Cobra products feature a movie of the exhaust and give some idea as to the sound which you can expect. What power gains can I expect to achieve? Of course this varies from engine to engine, our systems are designed and manufactured to maximize gas flow with increased diameter pipe work, free flowing silencers and mandrel bends which provide a much less restrictive exhaust system than original equipment exhausts, resulting in a much better engine response and increased BHP. Typically you can expect to achieve around a 10% increase from the installation of a cat-back system. Some individual products also show approximate power gains. Is it legal to put a de-cat pipe on my car? You can only de-cat your car if it was registered prior to 1992, otherwise it will fail the emissions check at your MOT station. Will my car need remapping? If you are fitting a cat back system to your car, this will have no effect on the engine management operations. However, if you are replacing your original system with a de-cat, sports cat or front pipe your car may need remapping as it may cause the vehicles engine management light to activate. What is the difference between resonated and non-resonated systems? Resonators are box chambers incorporated into the exhaust system, which are used to make the exhaust quieter, by cancelling certain sound frequencies. A non-resonated exhaust system will therefore, give a louder exhaust note and a resonated exhaust system, a quieter exhaust note. Either option will still provide extra performance. What is a Slash-Cut tailpipe? Slash-cut tailpipes are finished and cut off at a 15 degree angle, and suit certain types of vehicles depending upon the shape of the bumper and overall aesthetics of the vehicle. If you require any advice on which tailpipe would be most appropriate for your car, please give us a call. What will be the finish of my exhaust? All our exhausts come with highly polished mirror finish tailpipes and rear boxes. All other pipework and gaskets etc, will be a matt polished finish. If you do require highly polished pipework this is now available as an optional extra when purchasing via our website. How do I keep my exhaust looking like new? If you do not clean your exhaust/tailpipe, it will eventually become discoloured and be more difficult to bring back to its original finish. Regular cleaning with a non-abrasive metal polish such as Solvol Autosol® will ensure that your exhaust continues to look as new. At Roadrunner we pride ourselves on our personal service that cannot be compared. To any of our competitors. Our highly competent sales team are always more than willing to help, whether youre unsure of fitting specifications or just making an enquiry. The difference between a standard cat and sports cat is that sports cats allow more gasses to pass through, while still allowing the same emission results. De-Cat Removing a catalytic converter by fitting a de-cat pipe can slightly improve your vehicles performance compared to using a sports cat, however it is illegal to drive on the roads with a de-cat pipe fitted (designed for race/track use only). The high flow sports cat version will enable you to pass a UK MOT emissions test or police road side checks. The resonated exhaust option includes the centre silencer and has a subtle but sporty tone. This exhaust is also available as a non-resonated version which is a louder option as it excludes the centre silencer and therefore, has a sportier exhaust note. Mandrel bends for optimum flow. Remapping is recommended when purchasing / fitting a hi-flow sports cat or decat pipe. Sports cats and decats may cause EML light to illuminate. Cobra Sports range of performance exhausts demonstrate the highest quality of manufacturing, each system is handmade in Sheffield and in-house expertise ensures that all Cobra Sport exhausts are engineered the highest tolerances ensuring a perfect first time fit, great performance and a truly pitch perfect exhaust sound. Cobra Sports exhaust production facilities are geared up to producing performance exhausts in high volume, not only for themselves but also for clients such as Subaru UK, Isuzu UK and Ginetta Cars, to name a few. This does not preclude working for clients on an individual one-off basis for prototype or custom developments whether that be for road, track or race exhausts. Precision power, matched by sensational looks and an inspirational sound is the Cobra Sport promise. Turbo Back This is the part of the exhaust system from the outlet of a turbocharger to the final vent to open air. Cat Back This is the part of the exhaust system from the outlet of a catalytic converter to the final vent to open air. Rear Box This is the part of the exhaust system from the outlet of a centre section to the final vent to open air. Resonator This is the smaller cylindrical box usually positioned towards the front/middle of the vehicle that removes the resonation sound that the engine produces, this box can be removed for a louder sound to the exhaust but can leave cabin drone a problem at motorway speeds for some people. Tailpipe This is the final stage of the exhaust gasses before it reaches normal air conditions, size and style of this part has little effect on volume, sound or power. Style is the main focus. Flex One benefit of exhaust flex pipe is that it can reduce vibrations transmitted from the engine and exhaust into the chassis, which in turn can be felt by the occupants of the car. The flex pipe is used to connect rigid lengths of exhaust pipe, and the fact that it can flex and move reduces these undesirable vibrations. Sports Cat All modern petrol car exhausts manufactured from 1993 are fitted with a catalytic converter and require one to enable the vehicle to be legal on the road. Cats contain precious metals and reduce harmful emissions of hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere. The catalytic converter works when it reaches its optimum working temperature, and converts the gases into water vapour and less harmful gases. Lambda Sensor This device helps to reduce carbon emissions. This monitors the percentage of oxygen present in exhaust gases and transmits information to the engine management system or electronic control unit (ECU). If you require any advice on which tailpipe would be most appropriate for your car.
